This is called "Music Return to Me"

The silence in my head is like death to me.
Rapidly running in reminding that I'm missing something....missing something great, that thing that i love.
You always seem to be there in my memory haunting me.
Causing me to feel that i have done you wrong.
I often sit looking inward as you build up inside of me
Longing for you to just care for me and hold me the way we used to do.
I never felt this way when you were with me
But now that i have lost you i long for u to return to me
I write this in pain, now desiring your sweet smell next to me.
Whispering in my ear all the passion that lays in your melody
That rhythmic tap you have filled in me.
You my own personal sonnet.....your words like Shakespeare if Shakespeare was black and beautiful.
Like Cleopatra to the nile, you were my goddess to me.
I miss you, you my lover and my friend

I made the drawing first and from that it reminded me of my love for music and how i missed performing in front of an audience. I just needed an outlet that day, and if its not singing then its usually drawing and finally writing. Writing is usually my last resort, a way to clear my head on a piece of paper.

thnx, this is one of my favorite pieces. and i would frame the drawing but its too small, i drew it in my sketch book. Maybe i'll remake it on a bigger scale one day when i have the time.

I seen you beforee like a memory not yet erased from my time frame.... quite a unique fragrance quite a unique mind game..... see where the complexion of the stars mixed with color of your butterscotch essence......i was left panting gettin aroused from your presence....Like a scar worth havin, a goal worth grabbin, u were that significant pull to ma magnet.....see as onlii an admirer i watched, as onlii a watcher i wished...as i onlii i wisher i dreamed.....dreamed of you one day admiring me.... watching me...wishing about me....dreaming about me the way i move, breathe, see what i see...as i look at u....i wish u could see me...i wish i could see maself...but i cant cuz all i c is you.....Ma angel....Ma everything.

Where are you standing when you take the landscapes that are from high up?

insomniac babble
before i woke up
you were watching me and whispering sweet nothings
smiling with the sun-- a mere shadow in your glory
i basked in your beauty
blinded by your rays
content to be burned
before i woke up

my dreams were my reality
my visions my hope
your laughter my life
rain never fell
now i'm drenched in unforseeable weather
afraid to fall asleep

becoming Mrs.

Speckled with glistened drops
as heat meets the chilled surface
Champagne glasses clink
resounding thru the air

Chatter abounds as smiles spread wide
Conversation connects strangers and friends
Music champions for attention
As the dancefloor beckons those who dare

Kisses meet lips of anticipated happiness
Drunken speeches entertain those who listen
With full bellies and lost inhibitions
Tuxedo ties are loosened and high heels kicked about

As farewells and rice shower her hairsprayed coif
As her hands tighten around his arm
She smiles deeply
and unexpectantly begins to shout

But, out of the corner of her eye, she catches a glimpse
of the blue dress,
the flash of its vibrancy turns his head
and he steps forward, breaking the link
and her hand falls to her side
as her ring glistens

The Dating Game

I hate it
Sparsely furnished and dimly lit
your apartment reeks
from male pomposity and arbitrary attitude
dark leather sofa, bookcaseless collections,
forgotten framed prints leaning against the wall
I stagger
Overcome by the bleakness of non-committment
weighed down by the stench of gigolo-itis
if only you'd make your bed
I'd stay

I wrote all of these poems more than ten years ago, while in my early twenties. I am just thrilled with how my writing has grown but find it very interesting where I was mentally then.

Gemini

Twin souls
within one temple
engaged in vibrant reflection
attempt to dissect the reason or ism
of withered cultural introspection
They battle it out
and come to a draw
and, alas, determine
The Why
In their journey they've found that
there is no one truth
So, there is their tale
Gemini

I Patiently Await
To my unborn first child
I dreamed of you one night long ago,
but a child myself I was.
Had a yearning to hold, to mother you--
no rhyme, no reason
Just because.
Never wished then for white horsed knights or
lace and pearls with ushered choreographed
marches.
Seldom dreamt of handsome bridegrooms
mouthing vows beneath gauze covered arches.
In splendor wonder I did dream of you:
small fists clutching my finger tight,
of rounded softness--baby flesh-- upturned
in perfect gurgled delight.
My baby child, of you, I dreamt,
you would make my half-world whole.
Your birth in my dreams, in my mind's special
eye
has found immortality in my heart,
in my soul.
