November 4, 2008 at 11:00 p.m. was truly the highlight of my year. I had been walking between election return watching parties and had reached the small party at B. Smith's maybe fifteen minutes before. The intimate group that had gathered all felt like family. Some laughed, some cried, we ALL screamed. I floated home~

This was such an amazing year for me.

For starters, my partner and I started Liberated Muse Productions and kicked off the Capital Hip Hop Soul Fest this past summer. One of the definite highlights has to be meeting the phenomenal people I've been able to meet on line. Discovering Ning sites this year led me to www.sojournals.com which sparked the notion to create this www.liberatedmuse.com network. I've met so many wonderful people between sojournals.com and this site, too many to mention.

Early in the year I was blessed to produce and direct the play "Shades of Black: a thought in progress" that I wrote in 2007 and was able to stay connected to theatre arts through participation in the Saartjie Project. This year has been one of the best in my life!

I presented "BLACK AGE XI" in Chicago as a scattered site convention for the Black Age of Comics Movement. My Boys Volleyball Team reached the playoffs. I coach High School Boys Volley Ball. I presented my "Passion Fruit" watermelon themed Rhythmistic Fine Art at the African American Fine Art Show. My God-daughter Tourqouise turned 21. Plus I voted for my nieghbor for President of the USA and he won. I joined the mighty mighty Liberated Muse. What a great year!!!!!!!

Participating in the process to elect Barack Obama to the White House and playing "Dorothy" in The Wiz were my two biggest highlights this year.

I am looking forward to completing my first book in 2009 and possibly reigniting my music "career". Stay tuned!

Peace & Prosperity to everyone,

~Quin

About Liberated Muse

www.LiberatedMuse.com is an online community for artists of all realms. Created in 2008 by Khadijah "Moon" Ali-Coleman, www.LiberatedMuse.com became the online home base for Liberated Muse Productions which formed shortly after between Khadijah and Maceo Thomas to produce the Capital Hip Hop Soul Fest (CHHSF). Since 2008, Liberated Muse Productions has produced events promoting quality artists and community venues. In 2009, Liberated Muse published a book anthology featuring member writers and visual artists from across the country and abroad-- Liberated Muse Volume I: How I Freed My Soul. During the book tour, proceeds from each stop on the tour have benefitted community and arts groups, including the DC College Success Foundation, the Saartjie Project and Southeast Ministry.
