Dear Brothers and Sisters:
Due to my own personal mounting financial crisis, I have no choice but to
POSTPONE the Second annual Black CapaCity Literary Arts Festival. It has become seriously difficult for me to be able to maintain my standard of living, and plan the festival at the same time. It seriously pains me to do this, but I don't really have much of a choice at this point. When you have to start rolling coins just to make sure that you don't have a negative balance, then you KNOW that the situation is a weeee bit dire. I'm no good to anyone else, if my own house isn't straight.
Any funds that have been sent to participate in the festival shall be promptly returned. Though the festival itself will not be held at this time, we shall continue to maintain the
Mailing List, the
MySpace profile page, and our
networking group on Liberated Muse. As I have stated before, this is more than just a one-time event...
THIS IS A MOVEMENT!!! I consider the Mailing List to be the most essential part of what we do to keep this movement alive. The Mailing List will be maintained at all costs, as long as my phone/internet bill remains paid.
At this point, the festival will be postponed until further notice. I am hoping to right my financIal situation, and hopefully continue to hold the festival at a later date sometime this year. You will all be kept informed of my situation, and any changes made for the future of the festival. Please continue to send us any information to send out to the rest of the members of the mailing list as far as any Activities, Book Fairs, Book Signing, Conventions, and other festivals that are going on.
Up you mighty race! You can accomplish what you will!!!!
ONE GOD...ONE AIM....ONE DESTINY!!!!!
