Liberated Muse

Transforming Places Into Art Spaces

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

Due to my own personal mounting financial crisis, I have no choice but to POSTPONE the Second annual Black CapaCity Literary Arts Festival. It has become seriously difficult for me to be able to maintain my standard of living, and plan the festival at the same time. It seriously pains me to do this, but I don't really have much of a choice at this point. When you have to start rolling coins just to make sure that you don't have a negative balance, then you KNOW that the situation is a weeee bit dire. I'm no good to anyone else, if my own house isn't straight.

Any funds that have been sent to participate in the festival shall be promptly returned. Though the festival itself will not be held at this time, we shall continue to maintain the Mailing List, the MySpace profile page, and our networking group on Liberated Muse. As I have stated before, this is more than just a one-time event...THIS IS A MOVEMENT!!! I consider the Mailing List to be the most essential part of what we do to keep this movement alive. The Mailing List will be maintained at all costs, as long as my phone/internet bill remains paid.

At this point, the festival will be postponed until further notice. I am hoping to right my financIal situation, and hopefully continue to hold the festival at a later date sometime this year. You will all be kept informed of my situation, and any changes made for the future of the festival. Please continue to send us any information to send out to the rest of the members of the mailing list as far as any Activities, Book Fairs, Book Signing, Conventions, and other festivals that are going on.

Up you mighty race! You can accomplish what you will!!!!

ONE GOD...ONE AIM....ONE DESTINY!!!!!

About Liberated Muse

www.LiberatedMuse.com is an online community for artists of all realms. Created in 2008 by Khadijah "Moon" Ali-Coleman, www.LiberatedMuse.com became the online home base for Liberated Muse Productions which formed shortly after between Khadijah and Maceo Thomas to produce the Capital Hip Hop Soul Fest (CHHSF). Since 2008, Liberated Muse Productions has produced events promoting quality artists and community venues. In 2009, Liberated Muse published a book anthology featuring member writers and visual artists from across the country and abroad-- Liberated Muse Volume I: How I Freed My Soul. During the book tour, proceeds from each stop on the tour have benefitted community and arts groups, including the DC College Success Foundation, the Saartjie Project and Southeast Ministry.

If you are part of a nonprofit group who would like Liberated Muse Productions to produce a benefit show for you, contact us today.

www.LiberatedMuse.com, though based in Washington DC is a global space where artists are encouraged to network, post events, create profile pages, upload photos and join discussion groups and share music. Members also can post and learn about new opportunities to perform, exhibit work, vend and other ways to present their art to the world. Many of members have garnered wonderful opportunities from being part of the site. Our members range from aspiring novices to professional recognized names.
